My experience with Migration
Migration is a situation that has been lived for years and in my case, I had to live it too. My name is Damaris and I know people have different reasons to migrate, for example, my family living in a rural area had very little access to basic services but not only this was the reason to take this decision, the work also is not the best, is really difficult get a job in the rural areas and the lower wages and as farmers did not benefit us so my parents decided to migrate to the city. We all know that migration is not only difficult for the person who is going to experience a completely different environment than what they are used to but that the whole family that remains is also affected by this. My grandparents when we migrated to the city for better opportunities they had to go through many difficulties.First I would like to tell you about my experience migrating to the city and the disadvantages it has. What affected me the most was the pollution when I arrived, everything is full of factories and you don't see a place with trees to run and like in the countryside where you breathe the pure air. Being just a child it was easy to get used to me but for my parents not and they even got sick. Another disadvantage is the crime and, being a low-income family, we had to live in quite dangerous areas, it was so difficult not to be able to leave because of the danger that existed around me.
Of course, there are many advantages such as more job opportunities with better salaries that helped us to have meals every day. How close the hospitals and schools are is amazing and I think that is incredible advantages have every basic service in the easiest way. My grandfather told me that after we moved to the city they were very concerned with all the bad ideas they had of the city and the truth was he was right it is quite difficult to live in the city. He told me that no one could take care of the small farm we had in the field and that they could no longer take care of themselves I missed them every year and when my parents were not busy I would visit them at Christmas.
With my experience, I could learn a little more about this change and who it affects. Migrating to a big city is not how they are shown in the movies, it is very difficult to adapt to separating from your family and having a completely different life with many disadvantages that you had not been told about. The idea of writing this blog comes to me when I talked with my family about How difficult is to migrate to another place with a differents traditions and lifestyle
